This home’s closed-off layout was stuffy to navigate and suppressed natural light from travelling into the kitchen from its adjacent rooms. The owners wanted an update while preserving the charm of the era.
Solution: We removed the wall between the kitchen and living room, instantly expanding the zone and allowing sunlight to ricochet through. A subtle arch tethers the rooms together.
The glazing surfaces of the full frame replacement kitchen windows bounce the brightness. Classic-style cabinetry coupled with the warm and cheery colour scheme create a sense of vastness. The custom, shallow pantry and recessed refrigerator further stretch the floor space.
Result: Once dim and uninviting, the new kitchen’s a magnet for memory-making, practical living. Natural light inundates the seemingly boundless area.
